Prevention of environmental pollution and use of resources

Policy on prevention of environmental pollution and use of resources

Global warming, ocean pollution, air pollution, water contamination, and deforestation are among the environmental problems threatening the Earth. Among the environmental problems of particular concern to Okinawa, where the Orion Group is based, are coral bleaching due to extreme heat and the drifting ashore of marine debris. These problems could potentially undermine Okinawa’s attractiveness as a tourist destination.

The Orion Group recognizes these environmental issues and is concerned about them. In order to conserve the rich natural environment of Okinawa and hand it on to future generations, we practice business activities that reflect due consideration for the global environment as described below.

  • We appropriately manage pollutants generated in the course of our business activities and endeavor to reduce them in order to prevent contamination of the global environment.
  • The Orion Group is committed to reducing waste throughout its business. Hence, Orion Breweries strives to maintain 100% recycling of waste generated during the brewing process.
  • In conducting our business activities, we continually endeavor to use natural resources more efficiently by, for example, reducing the use of containers and packaging materials.

Waste reduction and prevention targets and progress

The Orion Group is committed to reducing waste.
As part of this effort, Orion Breweries’ Nago Brewery aims to continue 100% recycling of waste generated during the brewing process.
