Revitalization of Okinawa and promotion of corporate citizenship (regional contribution) activities

Initiatives for sustainable development of Okinawa and the Orion Group

For sustainable development of Okinawa and the Orion Group, it is important to strengthen support for the current generation of youngsters from whom Okinawa’s future leaders will emerge. We position support for education as one of the most important themes of our regional contribution, and in particular, we are addressing child poverty, the most critical social issue in Okinawa.

In 2016, we established the Orionbeer Scholarship Foundation, which offers scholarships that do not require repayment, provides support for single parents, and is a source of career advice for children. Adopting a long-term agenda, the entire Orion Group is providing educational support that leads to fundamental solutions to child poverty.

CSR Activities of the Orion Group Orionbeer Scholarship Foundation
In 2021, The Orion Hotel Motobu Resort & Spa participated in Out of Kidzania in Okinawa, an event held by companies and organizations in Okinawa Prefecture to offer children opportunities to “experience work” through realistic role play. Eight students from Nago City’s Agarie Junior High School experienced the work of hotel staff
In 2022, an Orion Group employee gave a class on the Orion Group’s initiatives for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while also touching on recycling-oriented industry and CSR activities, to fifth and sixth graders at Geruma Elementary School in Zamami Village.
