Respect for human rights, preservation of Okinawa’s identity

Relationship with Ryukyu history and culture

We are supporting reconstruction of Shuri Castle, which was destroyed by fire in October 2019, by planting and cultivating Japanese yew (Podocarpus macrophyllus) whose timber will be used as building material for Shuri Castle. We are also providing various support for the revitalization of the area adjacent to the castle.
As a specific initiative to support reconstruction of Shuri Castle, we launched our flagship product Orion The Draft “Shuri Castle Reconstruction Support Design” in 2019, and a portion of the proceeds have been used for reconstruction support such as the planting and cultivation of Podocarpus macrophyllus.

In 2022, we adopted a Ryukyu Bingata traditional Okinawan textile design, winner of the Ryukyu Bingata Next Design Competition sponsored by the Ryukyu Bingata Preservation and Expansion Consortium, for the label design for a limited-edition beer, as part of our initiatives to support Bingata craftsmen.
