Five Themes of the Orion Group
In September 2023, for sustainable development of Okinawa, society as a whole, and the Orion Group, we identified 15 key issues affecting the Group and our stakeholders as materiality based on five themes.
These items of materiality provide guidelines for formulating business policies, strategies, etc., in order to implement sustainability management, since they may be risks or opportunities for the Orion Group over the medium to long term.
Coexistence with Nature in Okinawa
We believe the attractiveness of the Orion Group’s products and services is in large measure an expression of the “attractiveness of Okinawa” and we seek to make the most of that linkage.
And at the heart of Okinawa’s attractiveness is its rich natural environment as an archipelago set in a beautiful ocean.
We believe that initiatives to conserve Okinawa’s beautiful natural endowment, which is not only cherished by Okinawans but also attracts numerous tourists, will lead to strengthened sustainability of the Okinawa-based Orion Group.
Development of Okinawa and Local Communities
In the postwar years, when Okinawa was still under U.S. administration, the Orion Group was founded in Okinawa to support the economic recovery of Okinawa and the younger generation from whom the future leaders of Okinawa would emerge. With “Be grateful and repay the kindness you have received.” and “coexistence and co-prosperity” among the Group’s core values, we will continue to strive for development of local communities in Okinawa.
Responsibility to Customers
We strive to provide socially and environmentally conscious products and services to meet the expectations of Okinawa and all those who love Okinawa so that they can enjoy the attractiveness of Okinawa and the products and services of the Orion Group for many years to come.
Empowering Diverse Human Resources
In Okinawa, a region with a rich history and unique culture rooted in the Ryukyu Kingdom, we are committed to developing human resources who can create new, diverse value and to building a globally competitive organization.”
Governance
Rather than being satisfied with our position as a small or medium-sized local enterprise, we are striving to maintain and strengthen a sound and strong organization with the flexibility to respond promptly to rapidly changing social and market conditions and the transparency associated with leading global enterprises.
